I may sound like a broken record, but I assure you this is the LAST CRY- to hop aboard my Kickstarter campaign Counting to Infinity * Stelle Scopa Deck of Cards: a hand illustrated deck of playing/ divination cards, inspired by Italian Scopa & Tarot, charmed by celestial + terrestrial iconography

The planet Mars has been dragging its pointy spear, but it’s finally shifted out of reverse- just days before Mercury does the same- and not a moment too soon! My magical deck of cards needs the momentum as we inch closer to my project goal.

I’m tracking the stars like my dad watches football, praying for a cosmic HAIL MARY pass to carry us over $ 1 2 3 4 5 ☄️

🧹 Stelle Scopa (meaning broom stars or sweeping stars, another name for Comets) is a deck of cards I created between Boston, MA, Nashville, TN and Venice Italy. The deck can be used to play traditional Italian/European card games, such as its namesake “Scopa”. It can also be used for reading meaning, like a modern Tarot deck.

How do I back the project?

Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing funding platform for creative projects. It’s become quite the corner for innovative card production and a wave of 21st century decks. The platforms is actually pretty flexible with how you configure your Pledge, so you can choose from one of the Tier/Pledge level bundles I offer or pledge a custom amount to which you can add itemized “add-on” offerings.

HOW CAN I LEARN TO USE THE CARDS?

📖 Reading cards for divination or reflection is a learned and intuitive practice we spend our lives honing. Playing games calls for rules you can quickly learn, but good strategy comes with experience! The Stelle Scopa zine- the deck’s “booklet”- will provide guidelines for both. If this interests you, be sure to add-on the zine (it’s included in pledge tiers $77 and above), but I’ll also post much of the content online.

🧙 AND STAY TUNED for a Saturday evening SCOPA PARTY hosted at HAUSWITCH in March (likely 3/11). We’re cooking up a rad event where you can learn more about the cards AND play Scopa with your fellow witches. Broomsticks, cackles and shuffling galore!

HOW CAN I DIVE DEEPER INTO THIS MAGIC?

If you want to calculate your Tarot cards of the year, there are a few approaches, but I use this simple math: precise birthdate info (month, day, date) + current year.

This year my total comes to 13 (DEATH) and then you can distill that further as 1+3 = 4 (EMPEROR), but cards from the Major Arcana.

Top these off with an astrological Pluto Square to my natal Pluto and you’ve got some pretty GOTH VIBES that might frighten even the baddest of bats. I’m sure to be pulverized, but hey the Phoenix needs ashes to rise out of. I’m calling in the energies of figures like Eris (Goddess of Strife/Discord) and St. Barbara (Patron saint of lightning) to help me lean-in to the drama and power of it all. As I get more comfortable on my thrown, the heady ego might roll. But my hope is that I learn to “rule” with warmth and fairness without letting my Libra Sun constantly apologize for my Aries Moon.

And this is why I created the REVERSIBLE Eris/ Infinite Goddetc jersey (printed by my buddy Antidesigns!). Keep your eyes on the gram this week. I’ll be diving more deeply into what ERIS means to me personally + giving y’all a chance to win a FREE jersey! She is just 1 of the 11 baddass Asteroids I called into the 6th suit of my deck.

In short: ERIS is a Greek goddess, the sister of Ares and warrior for underdogs. She upsets and excites, defends the vulnerable and refuses to stay out of trouble. TBH, she might @ you, but it’s probably for your own good. It is ERIS who hurled the Golden Apple of Discord into Peleus &Thetis’ wedding- to which she was not invited. The apple bore a message “To the Fairest” - which got those hot, popular goddesses (who would not dare to ruffle feathers by including Eris) into a tiff over the title 🪞🍏🪞

Exile Eris? She finds her way in. She does not apologize for being difficult or persistent. The asteroid-turned-dwarf-planet was numbered 136199 before named. When I wear this jersey, which features the name, number, glyph and golden apple (complete with baseball stitching!), I go to bat for + with ERIS. I commit to my own strength and ability to toughen up when it’s time for battle. While I love women as much as the Sapphic Asteroid, I call upon Eris’ protection from mean-girl magic, which is also very real.

I invited Eris + all the Asteroids to my deck the week that overturning Roe V Wade became hard on the table. Eris steps up to the plate and it’s time for us to join her team, as many in Iran and other countries of the world have done.

Flip this jersey inside-out and you’ve got the silver-comet-dusted infinity loop under the INFINITE GODDETC spell. Goddetc is the word I coined for the gender expanded god/goddess/goddexx entity + energy w/ boundless possibilities ♾️. If you’re feeling a little too heated and need a loving cool-down, just flip it inside out and breath into vast and infinite forms of prayer.
